helsinki home of designer Tanja Jänicke

Winter times means longing for some real warmth. And as a Belgian resident this means looking for the absolute fireplace to heat up my inner self...

When I came across a picture of this stunning fireplace I absolutely wanted to find out more about the interior goodness of this home!

Residents of this 130 square metre Helsinki home are designer and interior architect Tanja Jänicke and her carpenter husband. They have turned the apartment into a fresh and bright white space with the high ceilings and original windows.Tanja and her husband have done most of the decoration and interior design themselves, with an eye for clever storage solutions and some big love for the natural. Wood and robust designs are to be found all over the apartment. And the large solid wood family table of course. One to throw her regular dinner parties and to create a warm & welcome atmosphere.

A perfect example of some simple, beautiful and functional design where the natural palette creates a comfortable place to love & live!
